What is a peer-reviewed journal?

Answer

A peer-reviewed journal, also known as a scholarly journal or academic journal, is a publication that contains many articles written by scholars, experts, and professors. "Peer review" is the process by which the contents of a journal are evaluated. Unlike books, which are evaluated by editors, journals are evaluated by other experts in the field, who are typically the author's peers.

For example, Nature is the title of a journal, which is released several times a year. Within Nature, there are many articles which are written by experts and reviewed by experts. It's important to know both the title of the journal and the title of the article when citing a source, and for finding information.
