Does Pirate Search search the entire library?

Answer

Pirate Search does not search the entire library. Or at least, it doesn't search everything to the same degree. Even if you can't find something in Pirate Search, we might still have it through the library.

Pirate Search is a discovery tool, and it tries to search almost every database we have. However, because of the underlying data structures, it doesn't "see" some databases as well as others.

Pirate Search is good for general introductory searching and will give you good results for most of your LE and introductory courses. When you're doing subject-specific research, however, start with one of our Library Guides to find the best databases for your paper or project.
